Type of launch facilities: Sunnyside Ramp is free. Located at the end of Sunnyside Avenue N, the ramp is just east of Gas Works Park on the Ship Canal. Parking is limited and, according to the Seattle Parks Department, "Boaters using Sunnyside will have to be content with street parking."
"Schedule" and Activities: I propose we head south from the ramp and sail by the Center for Wooden Boats as part of a sloppy circumnavigation of the lake. Sail and row for two hours our until we are sufficiently cold and/or wet, then head to Ivar's Salmon House Fish Bar a short distance east of the ramp for warm chowder and a late lunch.
Of Special Note: Lake Union is reasonably protected and just a mile long north-south which keeps the waves down to a reasonable size. Adjacent hills and buildings can make for interesting winds. I'll be there (in a dry suit) rain or shine.
There is no chase boat for this messabout. Check in with me at the ramp or call me (206-755-0563) if you wish be tracked on/off the water and I'll make sure we don't leave anyone behind.
Accommodations: If needed, participants are responsible for arranging their own overnight accomodations.
RSVP: Please RSVP to the TSCA Puget Sound group on Yahoo
or email Randy Jones
