Driving Directions: See below.
Type of Launch Facilities: Last year, it cost $5 to launch your boat.
"Schedule" and Activities: Normally, the picnic lasts until about 4:00 p.m. People bring their families. Some people paddle their boats in the bay. Families play in the warm water near the beach. ACMC will provide a canoe and Peapod boat for those who want to be on the water but do not have their own boats. (Several adult life vests are available, but only a limited number of life jackets for small children are available so participants will need to bring their own or share life vests for kids.) There is plenty to do at Bowman Bay -- from boating, hiking, napping, and camping.
Food: Lunch is potluck with the Anacortes Community Maritime Center providing the main dish (salmon, chicken, hot dogs) beginning about noon until 2 p.m. This should allow plenty of time for people to enjoy themselves; however, there is no promise that there will be a whole lot of food left at 2 p.m.
RSVP: To RSVP, or if you have questions about the picnic lunch, please contact

For campground information check the Washington State Parks Camping at Deception Pass web page. Make reservations at the Washington State Parks Online Reservation Service. Note: there is also a small camp near the water for people who are traveling the Cascade Marine Trail.
Driving Directions: FROM I-5 (BURLINGTON): Take exit 230, Hwy 20 West. Follow Hwy 20 as it turns South at a T-intersection on Fidalgo Island. Travel 6.5 miles to North entrance at Pass Lake (Bowman Bay and Rosario Beach areas). Main park entrance is 2 miles further South.
