John Gardner Chapter: March 2007 Meeting Minutes
The John Gardner Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association.
Minutes for the March 4, 2007 membership meeting of the John
Gardner Chapter of the TSCA.
The meeting was called to order by President Spragg in the
Community Boathouse on the UConn Avery Point Campus at 1:41.
Eight members and officers were in attendance.
A motion was proposed, seconded and passed to accept the
Secretary’s Report from the February meeting, as distributed.
Treasurer’s Reports for the month of February submitted
by Russ Smith and accepted by a motion which was proposed
and seconded. The following is a summary:
Balance From January 4722.39
Expenses 82.50
Income 125.00
Balances for February 4764.89
Old Business:
Boathouse upkeep and Activities:
The new door for the boathouse has been installed thanks
to George and Andy.
Swampscott Dory is progressing (Chuck)
21’ double molds and planks are done. Assembly will
start soon. (Bill)
Hollow Mast is complete and spars are being faired. (George
& Andy)
New trailer for gig/dories has been delivered.
Dues are payable. We are attempting to update our mailing
list. Please include your home address, email address and
phone number with your check in the amount of $15.00 made
out to JGTSCA. Kindly use the following mailing address:

A letter was received from John and Barb Blaiklock thanking
the chapter for making them Life Members.
On the water:
A chapter row had been scheduled for this morning but was
cancelled due to high winds..
Next month we will again attempt a row on the morning of
the monthly meeting, April 1.

The Hull Lifesaving Museum’s SNOW ROW will be held
the morning of March 10. Russ and Sean will be rowing the
Susan Holland and Bill will be rowing Kia Kaha.
New Business:
The Avery Point Lighthouse Society has requested our assistance
in maintaining the recently restored structure. There was
general agreement that an effort would be made to lend a hand.
Rob will investigate this matter further.
John Symons has purchased the Blue Jay from the chapter at
the agreed price of $250.
The Pine Island Cleanup is scheduled for the Sunday, May
6th followed by our monthly meeting.
Annual Tag Sale will be held on morning of Saturday, June
9th. More info to follow.
Next meeting is scheduled for Sunday April 1, 2007 at 1:30
in the Avery Point Boathouse.
