John Gardner Chapter: June 2011 Meeting Minutes

This meeting was called to order following our tour of Mystic Seaport’s Small Craft Collection. President John Symons presided. A special word of appreciation goes to Dana Hewson, of the Seaport, for making the tour of the collection available to us.

Introduction of new member, James Clark.

Motion to accept the Minutes from the May meeting was made seconded and passed.
Treasure’s Report: Bill Armitage informed the chapter of the current account balance - $2,540.40.

A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the report as submitted.

Old Business:

Membership – 21 paid up members. There are still a few stragglers. Please check the membership list on the refrigerator in the boathouse.

Shop Vac - Sandy D’Eesopo has purchased materials, assembly in near future

Avery Point Dories – repainting in progress. Three boats have had the interiors done and painting the exteriors will follow shortly.

Thompson Skiff – continues with a Late July launch date anticipated.

Chaisson Dory – will be the next member project to be brought into the shop

New Business:

Russ Smith has been in contact with Randall Paterson to make him aware of our activities.
The Tag Sale will be held on June 11.

Weekly Friday gathering at the boathouse.
