On the water:
There was a chapter row this morning which left Mystic Shipyard
East at 10:00. The group of rowers went to Lords Point, West
to Enders Island and then back to Mystic Shipyard East. Several
seals were seen both in the water and basking on the rocks.
Next month we will row the Narrow River in RI on the morning
of Feb 4. Details to follow via email.
New Business:
A motion was made to purchase a new trailer for the gig.
Following discussion, a vote approved the expenditure of up
to $1,000 for the purchase of a new trailer which will have
adequate tongue length to accommodate the gig but must be
able to carry several dories. The trailer is to have 12’
tires. Russ will coordinate this effort.
Russ will also look into the possible benefits to the chapter
if we join US Rowing and/or Boat U.S. The membership should
be informed of the advantages which come with each organization
prior to voting on this expense.
There was discussion of establishing a cell phone account
and using that number as our contact point for the chapter.
Cost estimate will be investigated.
Next meeting is scheduled for Sunday February 4, 2007 at
1:30 in the Avery Point Boathouse.
Motion to Adjourn at 2:12.
