John Gardner Chapter: February 2007 Meeting Minutes
The John Gardner Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association.
Minutes for the February 4, 2007 membership meeting of the
John Gardner Chapter of the TSCA.
The meeting was called to order by Vice President Behney
in the Community Boathouse on the UConn Avery Point Campus
at 1:40.
Five members and officers were in attendance.
A motion was proposed, seconded and passed to accept the
Secretary’s Report from the December meeting, as distributed.
Treasure’s Reports for the month of January submitted
by Russ Smith and accepted by a motion which was proposed
and seconded. The following is a summary:

Old Business:
Boathouse upkeep and Activities:
The new door for the boathouse has been delivered and is
awaiting installation.
Swampscott Dory repairs are coming along. A new transom is
installed. (Chuck)
One of the Clark Lane Dories has been repaired and repainted.

21’ double frames have been laid out and are ready
to be cut. Construction of the stitch and tape double will
progress during February. (Bill)
Hollow Mast is assembled and being faired (George & Andy)
The John Gardner gig has been repaired and repainted has
been moved back outside. Thanks to all who helped with this
effort.
Dues are payable. We are attempting to update our mailing
list. Please include your home address, email address and
phone number with your check in the amount of $15.00 made
out to JGTSCA. Kindly use the following mailing address:

On the water:
A chapter row had been scheduled for this morning but was
cancelled due to extreme cold and high winds..
Next month we will again attempt a row on the morning of
the monthly meeting, March 4. Details to follow via email.
The Hull Lifesaving Museum’s SNOW ROW will be held
the morning of March 10. Interested members should contact
Bill Armitage who will coordinate the trip.
Pending Activity:
Our new trailer has yet to be purchased – Russ is taking
care of this.
No new information on insurance.
New Business:
IMPORTANT ----- Will the member who took the new Stationary
Disk/Belt Sander home to assemble it, please leave a note
in the shop when you expect to return the machine.
Next meeting is scheduled for Sunday March 4, 2007 at 1:30
in the Avery Point Boathouse. Arrangement for the trip to
Hull, MA for the Snow Row will be finalized at that time.
