John Gardner Chapter: December 2007 Meeting Minutes
The John Gardner Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association.
Minutes for the December 2, 2007 membership meeting of the
John Gardner Chapter of the TSCA.
A call for last minute ballots was made prior to the start
of the meeting.
The meeting was called to order by President Spragg in Avery
Point Boathouse at 2:05.
Ten members and guests were in attendance.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to accept the Secretary’s
Report from the November 2007 meeting as distributed.
The Treasure report indicated that there was no activity
in the account during the past month. The current running
balance was reported as $4053.47. The Treasure further reported
that there appears to be a discrepancy between the running
balance and the balance reported by our bank. A motion was
made, seconded and passed to authorize an audit of the account.

Officers for the coming year are:
President - Phil Behney
Vice President - John Maxson
Secretary - John Symons
Treasurer - Russ Smith
Past President - George Spragg
Boathouse Upkeep and Activities:
Swampscott Dory is back in the shop. (Chuck)
Progress continues on John Maxson’s new boat.
One more AP Dory has been returned to the shop for repainting.
We will look at setting this boat up as a double while it
is in the shop.
Other Updates:
One of the AP dories which was built with the students from
Clark Lane M.S. was loaned to a Groton Girl Scout troop and
appeared in last weeks Holiday Parade.

The John Gardner Gig made it up to Hull Life Saving Museum
On Nov. 17 for the Icebreaker Challenge, the Northeast Regional
Youth Open Water Rowing Championship. The boat was used by
teams from Floating the Apple.

New Business:
A Winter Solstice row is scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday,
December 23, 2007. The current plan is to launch from Mystic
Shipyard East at 3:30 in the afternoon and return shortly
after dark. Interested rowers should contact Phil Behney,
at flipbeh@gmail.com
Next meeting is scheduled for January 6, 2008 at 1:30 in
the afternoon. New officers will be seated at the start of
the meeting.
