Pine Island Clean Up

Sea Scouts Assist with Pine Island Clean Up

The Sea Scouts of Ship Dragon (Groton, CT) worked with JGTSCA members to help clean up Pine Island. The Sea Scout Ship Dragon had at least 16 youth and 9 adults who participated. We removed a large quantity of trash and garbage from Pine Island - not to mention treasure, including a boat engine tachometer and a sign.

Maritime Studies Barbecue

Maritime Studies Barbecue at JGTSCA Boathouse

Faculty and students of the University of Connecticut Maritime Studies Program gathered at the JGTSCA boathouse for an open house and barbecue. The festivities were enhanced by the rousing vocals of Don Sineti, folksinger, songwriter, and part-time sea chanteyman at historic Mystic Seaport Museum.
