The Big Race

After all the heats were completed, the four fastest boats were entered in one race from FTA across the Hudson to New Jersey and back - quite a distance! Here you see the four taking off from the starting line.
Below this picture you see a close up of a special boat in the race. It's special because they let Tim Weaver, from JGTSCA, take the oar in the middle of the boat for the race.

Go Tim Go! Parenthetically, that big structure at the end of the other pier has something to do with getting air down into a tunnel? You can also see that it's a long row from Pier 40 to New Jersey.

This picture shows two of the boats on their way back from New Jersey. They're way out there!

Aparently Tim's boat came in second. So what you see below are the winners. If someone can tell us who they are and where they're from we'd love to give them credit. G. C.

The big races are over and it's time to socialize and look at some more boats. Below on the left is Russell Smith, President of the John Gardner TSCA Chapter, Avery Point, Groton, CT. On the right is John Tichnor a Race Official from New Jersey.
