Members' Boats: Bill and Gwen Jacobson

Essex

Fifteen foot dory built by Bill Grunwald in 1971.
Fir marine plywood with oak and mahogany trim.
Beautifully refinished and maintained by the owners.

The Whitehall

Thirteen foot Maine Whitehall. Built in 1999 by
Eric Dow in Kennebunkport, ME. Cedar planks
over oak frames with oak trim. Rescued by the owners
from being stored outdoors and beautifully refurbished.

Old Town Canoe

Expertly restored by the owner, this is a seventeen foot,
canvas over oak strip canoe built by "Old Town" in
1945. The wood was in pretty good shape, but the canvas
had to be replaced and finished - a tedious and
complicated process.
