Gunning Dory
This double-ended craft was designed and built by local woodworker,
craftsman, and fisherman Ejler Hjoth-Westh in 1985. It was designed
by the builder, who considers it a "gunning dory". It handles well sailed
or rowed, and has been on the local estuaries as well as on the open ocean.
Ejler constructed an interresting central longitudinal structure for sliding
seat rowing. The sliding seat mechanism never worked very well, and when
Ejler built a similar boat for himself a year later, he installed fixed seats.
