Installing the Dock

The stormy season is over, and it's time to install the dock. Every year at this time, the Land's End Rowing Club - host to the Lost Coast Chapter of the TSCA - installs a float that serves as the dock for the use of club members and for TSCA events. Stan operates the crane after deftly rigging the 1500 lb. dock to the crane.

Selby watches the progress, ensuring that no mishaps occur. The float must be carefully lifted over it's winter place of repose to be put in place for the season's events and use.

Selby and Stan effect a gentle and flawless heft of the float over the rail of the dock.

The float is gently placed in the water ten feet below.

Selby, now down on the float at water level, releases the appropriate attachments.

Now, the float must be shifted about fifty feet to the west, in order to place it where it can be accessed by ramp at the side of the dock.

Selby assures that Stan's flawless alignment and attachments conform to appropriate standards. The float is now ready for use.
