The Connecticut River Oar and Paddle Club (CROPC) is the Connecticut River Chapter of the Traditional Small Craft Association (TSCA) and a founding affiliate of the youth education programs of the Maritime Education Network, Inc. and the Groton Maritime Academy.
Founded in 1983, the club has built and owns several rowing vessels suitable for individual or group outings. These vessels are usually available to visiting TSCA members. Planning meetings are often held at the Maritime Education Network's facility off Interstate 95 just south of the Baldwin Bridge on Ferry Road in Old Saybrook. Our larger craft are based there, and ramp access to the river is close nearby.
For CROPC membership and mailing information, a current newsletter in PDF format, supplementary schedules, local knowledge/maps/charts, event confirmations, and launch/trip advice, please download our brochure (447 KB PDF) or contact us at
Please consult current issues of Messing About in Boats, The Ash Breeze, and the club officers for news of other events of small-craft interest.
